Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking a summer intern to assist with editorial projects in the Rhetoric and Composition department. The internship will offer experience in the editorial, marketing, and production aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities will vary, but will include assisting with the preparation of manuscripts, reading and responding to print and web content for our books, researching competing titles, organizing book review programs, and limited administrative support when necessary.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should have strong writing and communication skills, be detail-oriented and organized, be comfortable working independently in an office environment, and have an interest in learning more about textbook publishing. Experience in publishing is a plus but is not required.
This is a paid internship. Specific work hours are flexible but interns usually work three or four days per week for a total of 20 hours. College juniors, seniors, and recent graduates preferred.
Location: New York, NY
