Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W. W. Norton’s college division is seeking an editorial intern to assist with political science and cultural anthropology textbooks for a three-month commitment, starting in late January/early February 2015. The internship will offer experience in editorial, production, and marketing aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities will vary day-to-day, but will include assisting in the coordination of review campaigns, assisting with manuscript preparation, data entry and management, and basic administrative tasks.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should have an interest in learning about textbook publishing. The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented and organized, have strong writing skills, and be comfortable working independently in an office environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in political science, but an academic background in political science is not required. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns typically work three or four days a week for a total of 20 hours.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $8.75/hour
