Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking a summer/fall intern to assist with editorial projects in the history department for a three-month commitment, ideally starting August 17, 2015. The internship will offer insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing. Tasks will vary, but will include assisting with preparation of manuscripts and electronic ancillary materials, researching market data, organizing book review programs, reviewing manuscript proposals, and other day-to-day office duties.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and organized, able to work independently in an office environment, and interested in learning about textbook publishing. Those with an interest in history are especially encouraged to apply. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns usually work three or four days per week. Juniors, seniors, and recent graduates preferred.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $8.75/hour
