Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking a bright, detail-oriented, and energetic intern to assist the psychology department this fall. The internship will offer insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing.

Responsibilities vary but will include assisting with the preparation of manuscripts and ancillary materials, organizing manuscript review programs, researching market data, writing competition comparisons, reviewing manuscript proposals, and other day-to-day administrative tasks such as printing documents and requesting checks.
Length of Internship: This internship will begin early September for a three-month commitment. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns typically work three or four days per week, for a total of 20 hours. College juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates preferred.
Requirements: Applicants should be interested in academic publishing. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and research skills; will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in an office environment; and will get along with the psychology team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically, Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required. A background or strong interest in psychology, though not required, is highly preferred.
