Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The Sociology and Cultural Anthropology team is seeking a highly motivated intern for fall 2016 to assist the electronic media (emedia) assistant. The emedia department supports Norton’s college division by producing ancillary materials to accompany its textbooks. Duties vary day by day, and involve a range of responsibilities working with print and online content, from reviewing author materials and formatting documents to assisting with all stages of the publishing process.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about textbook publishing, detail oriented, organized, self-starting, comfortable working with minimal supervision, willing to learn new programs and skills on the job, and have excellent communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a demonstrated interest in one of the disciplines is highly preferred. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns may work up to a total of 20 hours a week for 3 months.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $9/hour
