Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W. W. Norton’s College Publishing Department is seeking an intern to assist with sales and marketing tasks. The College Sales intern will have the chance to meet senior management from various departments during brown bag lunches, learn about various entry-level positions at Norton, and become familiar with many of Norton’s college titles.

Responsibilities in this internship vary, but will include data entry, researching market data, creating marketing materials, preparing materials for academic conferences and marketing campaigns, and performing basic office tasks like filing and copying. While the intern will have various duties and projects, they will also be challenged to look at their responsibilities with an analytical eye, notice problems and offer solutions, and present potential project ideas.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should be interested in academic publishing and publishing sales. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong research skills and will be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.

This internship will begin in September for a 3-month commitment. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns typically work 3 or 4 days per week, up to 20 hours total per week. College seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates preferred.
Location: New Yorl, NY
Payment: $9/hour
