Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college team at W. W. Norton, the largest and oldest publishing house owned wholly by its employees, is seeking an editorial intern to assist with chemistry and astronomy textbooks, starting in January.

The internship will offer the opportunity to learn about the editorial, production, and marketing aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities vary but will include assisting with manuscript preparation and review programs, conducting market research, managing data entry, and helping with basic office tasks. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a brown bag lunch program to meet department heads throughout the company and learn about publishing.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should be interested in learning about textbook publishing. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and is detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a science background.

Specific work hours are flexible, but interns are expected to work up to a total of 20 hours per week, for a three-month period.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $11/hour
