Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college department at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking a winter intern to work in the Custom Publications division. Duties will include assisting with marketing research, monitoring sales and inventory of custom texts, maintaining metadata for new titles, liaising with customers to ensure a smooth and efficient ordering process, managing databases, and helping with library research, manuscript preparation, and light proofreading. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in learning more about the sales, marketing, and editorial aspects of publishing, while focusing on a new and exciting branch of the textbook field that spans a wide variety of disciplines.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Applicants should possess strong writing skills and be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently in an office environment, and curious about the world of textbook publishing. Prior experience in publishing is not required, but familiarity with Excel and a comfort with Internet research are preferred.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $11/hour
