Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W. W. Norton, the largest and oldest publishing house owned wholly by its employees, is looking for two rising or current seniors or recent graduates to intern in its Manuscript Editing Department. This internship will give you the opportunity to work on print and digital versions of college textbooks—from learning the basics of proofreading and copyediting, to reviewing chapters and giving feedback, to exploring various stages of the publishing process. It will also give you opportunities to work alongside project editors, developmental editors, and managing editors on college textbooks from a wide range of disciplines.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Applicants should possess strong communication skills and be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently in an office environment, and curious about academic publishing.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $11/hour
