Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking an editorial intern to assist the Psychology department from September to December 2017. The internship will provide insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities vary but will include assisting with manuscript review programs and the preparation of manuscripts and ancillary materials, researching market data and competition, and performing administrative tasks such as drafting check requests and printing and scanning documents.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: The ideal candidate has a demonstrated interest in academic publishing and is energetic, meticulous, and organized. All candidates should possess strong research and communication skills and an ability to work independently in an office environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. A background in psychology or the sciences, though not required, is preferred. Specific hours are flexible, but interns must be available to work 3-4 days for a total of 20 hours per week over a three-month period. Juniors, seniors, and recent college graduates preferred.

Payment: $11/hour
