Description: Franklin & Siegal Associates is a leading international scouting agency, representing foreign publishers for adult, young adult, and middle grade, as well as clients for feature film and television. Learn more about us and our clients at We are seeking an intern for the Spring 2018 semester for the adult international scouting department. This is an unpaid internship; we offer school credit to rising juniors and seniors (preferably). Hours and duration of internship are flexible, though we would ask that you be able to commit to 2-3 days or 12-15 hours per week.
Length of Internship: Spring 2018 semester
Requirements: The intern will be asked to read and evaluate at least one manuscript per week. This is a great opportunity to get an overview of the publishing industry, learn more about scouting and foreign rights, and gain invaluable experience in writing reader's reports (a requirement for entry-level positions in editorial, publicity, subrights, and beyond). Other responsibilities may include helping scouts with specific projects as they arrive, including data entry and client scheduling.
