Description: For people with a love of reading who are interested in entering the publishing world, the filmed entertainment internship at Foundry is ideal. The ideal candidate as a passion for film as well as the publishing industry. This internship will give you the opportunity to learn about all aspects of book to screen adaptation. The intern will gain exposure the publishing industry, but the primary focus will be in relation to the film and television marketplace. This internship is ideal for strong readers interested in pursuing the development side of film or for those with a particular interest in Intellectual Property Rights.

You’ll spend time working on various special projects that will greatly increase your understanding of how book to screen adaptation works. Among others, projects may include compiling film reels, providing coverage on manuscripts and screenplays, creating and sending out newsletters, and drafting posts for Foundry’s social media platforms.
Length of Internship: 3 months (January-March)
Requirements: 1. Candidates should be working towards a bachelor’s degree or post-graduate degree. Recent college graduates may also apply for the position.
2. Analytical/critical eye with an ability to provide a concise opinion in writing.
3. No experience in the publishing field or with film/video editing is necessary, although a definite plus.
4. Applicants must be able to work at least 2 days a week in Foundry's NYC office. Work and academic schedules will be accommodated.
Location: New York, NY

Payment: If your school or career center requires it, we can provide academic credit for your time with us. Otherwise, we are able to offer a small stipend for travel expenses and lunch.
