Title: Editorial Assistant / Office Manager
Description: One of the world's most established publishing consultancies seeks an energetic, curious, and highly organized professional to provide administrative assistance, along with editorial and research support, for consulting projects and the firm's book industry news websites, Publishing Trends and Publishing Trendsetter.

In an EDITORIAL and RESEARCH capacity, this person serves in an assisting role as needed for all other staff members' projects, and may head up some projects individually.
---Helps produce original content for Publishing Trends and provides editorial support for other content.
---Attends and writes up local industry events.
---Builds company contacts by keeping up with industry blogs and periodicals and initiating contact with new companies and professionals for research.

Primary duties as OFFICE MANAGER include:
---Serving as first point of contact with all vendors and most clients (including bookkeeper/accountant, technical support, and building staff), supervising bill payment and invoicing, stocking and organizing office supplies.
---Independent problem-solving of computer and equipment issues.
---Organizes and evaluates the importance of all general incoming communication: phone, email, mail.
---Takes the initiative to invent or reinvent new systems of organization and bring to supervisors' attention when a current approach doesn't seem to be working optimally.
Requirements: REQUIREMENTS:
HELPFUL: InDesign, Acrobat, FileMaker Pro, Wordpress, Social Media

NECESSARY: Previous office experience, proficiency in all MS Office programs, strong writing skills, excellent copyediting, a passable eye for layout/design; confident phone manner, organized, independent.

Provides excellent exposure to a "macro" view of business. An entry level position with a strong passion for and curiosity about all elements of book business.
