Title: Production Editor
Description: Mascot Books is a full-service hybrid publisher dedicated to helping authors professionally create a high-quality printed or digital book that matches their vision. With comprehensive editorial, design, marketing, production, and distribution services, our authors have the support of an experienced publishing team. We're currently looking for a production editor who is comfortable taking on new challenges and has a passion for books of all genres!

Responsibilities:
-Manage the production of a high volume of projects per year across a variety of genres including business books, adult/YA fiction, self help, fitness and wellness, coffee table and cookbooks, and children’s books
-Work directly with authors, illustrators, editors, and graphic designers to coordinate all aspects of a book’s development from concept to printed product
-Provide comprehensive guidance to authors throughout every step of the production process--including editing, design, and printing--informed by current market trends as well as house and industry standards
-Create and maintain timelines for each project
-Contract freelancers from project to project with associated budgets in mind
-Edit children’s manuscripts as necessary

Requirements: Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Communications, or a related field
-2-5 years of client relations experience
-2-5 years of project management experience
-Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
-Strong ability to communicate with clients and freelancers clearly and professionally via email and phone
-Strong creative problem-solving abilities
-Familiarity with editing standards and overall writing structures
-Familiarity with the overall book industry, and industry standards for books of all genres
-Proficiency with Word, Google Drive, and basic computer programs
-Must be a self-starter who is willing to take on new challenges
-Trade publishing experience is not a must, but is a plus
-Must be able to arrange transportation; no metro accessibility
