Title: | Marketing Manager, Institutional Licensing |
Description: | AAAS is seeking an Marketing Manager Institutional Licensing who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic library sales marketing plans for a portfolio of six Science branded journals, including high profile new launch titles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop the library sales marketing strategy and implement marketing plans for the Science family of journals though a variety of channels including (but not limited to) social media, email, direct mail, conferences, events, advertising, and library newsletters; plans should promote lead generation, reinforce product value proposition and drive new business growth including upsells Establish solid marketing campaign development processes ensuring that the right infrastructure, systems, and reporting are in place to readily execute campaigns and meet marketing goals Working with sales team, establish program and process to conduct faculty/end user outreach to increase market awareness and encourage new sales Create compelling and targeted marketing copy and materials; Ensure marketing copy addresses the audience need and is impactful Ensure strategic sales partners have necessary marketing inputs to successfully grow business Maintain monthly reports, budgets, and project plans, reporting activities to relevant departments Work with Manager, Agent Relations and Customer Success to develop customer success collateral and campaigns Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns; deliver against goals, while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement Stay current with trends and issues of concern to librarians worldwide and translate knowledge into effective marketing campaigns Travel periodically travel to conferences and exhibitions. Business Relationships Report to Associate Business Director, Research and Development Work in partnership with Manager, Agent Relations and Customer Success ensuring materials meet customer needs Collaborate with Associate Director, Business Development to ensure processes and programs are in line with publishing goals and requirements Manage Marketing Coordinator |
Requirements: | Key Requirements
Undergraduate degree in marketing or related field. 3-5 years of experience, preferably marketing to libraries Ability to showcase creativity and get involved in the front lines Excellent communication skills (written and verbal; awareness of building strong and effective working relationships both internally and externally) Ability to deliver confident, appropriate and engaging presentations Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges Organized; self-motivated; able to balance priorities and to demonstrate calm and professional approach when working to deadlines Innovative and solution-oriented Aware of global marketing trends and techniques and is committed to developing marketing best practice. Full-time, staff position Situated at the AAAS headquarters, Washington, DC Ability to travel to meetings and conferences as appropriate (approximately 20%) |
