Title: Bilingual English-Chinese Editor Full & Part Time
Description: Leading publisher of educational materials in the areas of Asian languages and cultural studies for the K-12 and higher education markets seeks a Bilingual English-Chinese Editor to join its growing team.

Position Description
Creates and edits content for a variety of print and digital Chinese language learning materials. Within a project, coordinates and reviews the work of authors; edits and prepares manuscript; edits typeset pages (print or digital); shares products’ highlights with sales and marketing

Major Responsibilities
• Help develop middle school, high school, and/or college Chinese and other Asian language-learning materials
• Write lesson plans, exercises, rubrics, and other instructional content
• Edit manuscripts prepared by in-house and outside authors for clarity, organization, content, and pedagogy in accordance with project guidelines and company standards of quality
• Review, copy edit, proofread, style tag textbook manuscripts, digital content, audio, video, eBooks, and marketing pieces
• Develop and check page layouts, and implement all steps in the production of assigned projects
• Collaborate with Production in scheduling, tracking, and releasing project materials
• Work closely with Marketing to communicate project details and specifications for marketing/sales efforts
• Participate in promotional webinars and in-person product presentations and training
• Conduct competitive analysis of print and digital products, report findings, and train sales reps on the current competition
• Perform other duties as needed and requested

Requirements: Qualifications
• Native English reading and writing skills; excellent reading and writing proficiency in Chinese with knowledge of pinyin
• Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style or equivalent and minimum of three years’ experience in editing and project management
• Highly organized with strong time management skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Assertive, professional communication skills as well as comfort working both individually and in teams
• Strong and focused work ethic
• Teaching experience and knowledge of world language pedagogy
• Love for Asian languages, cultures, and global education
