Title: | KIDS EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP |
Description: | Job Description:
The chidren’s editorial team is seeking a remote fall intern who’s eager to learn about the publishing industry. Interns will work closely with the editorial, managing editorial, and design groups, and will receive a full apprenticeship alongside the children’s team. The position is part-time (20 hours a week) and will run until the end of 2021. Responsibilities include: • Reviewing submissions and writing readers reports • Drafting rejection letters • Assisting with creating PowerPoint slide for seasonal list launch • Managing the slush pile • Competitive title and market research • Preparing materials for meetings • Taking minutes at our weekly Editorial Meeting and Cover Meeting • Additional administrative support, as needed • Special projects as they come up (second reads, proofreading, etc.)’ |
Requirements: | Required Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint • Interest in children’s books |
