The Atlantic Monthly's Editorial internship offers college juniors and seniors and recent graduates of all ages a unique opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the magazine's editorial procedures. We have three intern sessions: Fall (September through December); Spring (January through May); Summer (June through August). We have three to four interns per session. We are currently accepting applications for our spring internship. Please submit applications no later than October 23, 2006.
Although we are flexible regarding school and part-time work requirements, we expect interns to work 16 to 20 hours a week, on a consistent schedule.
The internship is unpaid, but we provide Metrocheks for transportation and a one-year subscription to the magazine. We are happy to have students use the internship for college credit.

In addition:
- Interns get a behind-the-scenes view of all aspects of the production process at an award-winning national magazine.
- Interns help review the thousands of unsolicited submissions the magazine receives each year.
- Interns assist with fact-checking and research for the magazine.
- During each session, editors, writers, and members of the production and art departments give informal seminars for all Atlantic Monthly interns.
- Interns also assist the staff with assorted administrative tasks.
