Description: Established Literary Agency seeks intern to assist in the daily activities of running an agency as well as special projects.

50% of our clients write adult fiction and non-fiction and 50% write or illustrate children’s books so an interest in both is necessary. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn about the business of book publishing. The ideal candidate has an interest in starting a career in publishing.

Possible daily tasks include:

1. Reading and evaluating query letters sent by Authors seeking representation. Recommending which projects should be requested.
2. Drafting letters to potential and existing clients.
3. Reading solicited manuscripts and preparing detailed reports including suggestions for revisions.
4. Photocopying, phones, filing, mail, and other office tasks.
Requirements: -Applicant must be a current college student or recent graduate
-Exceptional writing and communication skills
-Detail oriented
-Ability to work independently and take initiative
-Available to work approximately 15 hrs a week.
