Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The College Digital Media team is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist the accessibility specialist in ensuring the accessibility of our products for students with disabilities.
Responsibilities will include reviewing alt text, testing assessment software for accessibility issues, cataloging college contacts, and other work as needed. Various document types will be used, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, PDF, as well as web formats such as HTML. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about accessibility, how students with disabilities interact with their environment, how accessibility works on and off the web, as well as the college publishing workflow in general. Training will be provided for all the more technical accessibility tasks.
Length of Internship: The internship is for 3 or 4 days a week for three months. The exact work hours are flexible, but interns must be available to work 20 hours per week.
Requirements: The ideal candidate will be thorough and detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, self-motivating and self-monitoring, interested in learning new skills on the job, and passionate about social issues. Any level of experience with accessibility is preferred but not required.

Juniors, seniors, and recent graduates preferred.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $8.75/hour
