Description: | The Sociology department at W. W. Norton & Company is currently seeking an intern to start as soon as possible, or during the spring semester, to assist with a variety of editorial projects. The internship will offer insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities will vary, but will include assisting with the preparation of manuscripts, researching market data, performing database work, social media, assisting with various stages of production, and other day-to-day administrative tasks. |
Length of Internship: | 3 months, 20 hours per week |
Requirements: | Candidates should have strong research and writing skills, be detail-oriented and organized, be comfortable working independently in an office environment, and have an interest in learning about textbook publishing. A background or interest in the social sciences is preferred but not required. Specific work hours are flexible but interns usually work three or four days per week for a total of 20 hours. College juniors, seniors, and recent graduates preferred. |
