Description: The Thieme Medical Publishers internship program in our New York office offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of medical publishing and to have direct contact with professionals in the field. All interns are welcome to attend essential editorial, production and sales meetings. The ideal candidate will have strong computer, communication and organizational skills. Previous book or magazine, editorial or production experience, and language skills are a plus but not required.

Editorial/Acquisition Internship - Publishing

Learn everything about how a book is born from conception to contract. This is a great opportunity to get a taste for the editorial side of professional publishing regardless of one's major or field of study. Thieme is a leading publisher in such diverse fields as radiology, orthopedic surgery, audiology and neurosurgery.
If you wonder how books are conceptualized and what steps are involved to make a proposal into a book, consider this internship. Our acquisitions department is a great chance to learn about acquiring content, the review process, and market research. This is ideal for detail-oriented candidates.

What we offer:
• Year-round full-time or part-time internships from a minimum of ten weeks to six months
• A stipend to cover transportation expenses and lunch
• Flexible office hours
• Academic credit can be arranged (e.g. independent study credits)
