Title: Journals Marketing Assistant
Description: Independent social-science publisher has full-time vacancy in its journals division for a well-organized marketing assistant.

Responsibilities will be primarily in the marketing department and include assisting in the execution of marketing plans and the monitoring of results; providing research support; coordinating conference materials; organizing ad arrangements; and creating marketing materials. Additional responsibilities may periodically include assisting with some more general office-wide administrative support.
Requirements: The position requires a responsible and detail-oriented person who can handle multiple tasks in a small-firm environment with minimal supervision. As an independent press, this position will offer a great opportunity to learn many facets of the publishing process.

Excellent communication skills and a command of English grammar and spelling as well as proficiency in Word processing applications are vital. Knowledge of Constant Contact and Filemaker Pro as well as basic desktop publishing skills, such as familiarity with InDesign, are also important for the job. A background in book/journal publishing or academia is ideal; self-reliance with high degree of organization and the ability to work in a small-firm environment is essential.
