Title: Sales and Marketing Director
Description: Artifex Press is looking for a Sales and Marketing Director to help develop, market, and manage its soon-to-launch subscription service.

Artifex Press is a publisher of catalogues raisonnés in digital form. To date, we have published catalogues raisonnés for Chuck Close, Jim Dine, and Tim Hawkinson, and we are working with some 15 other artists and estates, including Carl Andre, Robert Irwin, Sol LeWitt, Agnes Martin, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Frank Stella.

As we approach the release of several new catalogues, including Sol LeWitt: Wall Drawings and Agnes Martin: Paintings, we plan to introduce a subscription service geared toward academic, museum, and public libraries, as well as art world clients ranging from auction houses to galleries to private collectors.

We are looking for a Sales and Marketing Director with experience marketing and selling digital products, in particular to academic, museum, and public libraries. The primary role of this job is to initiate the sales program and develop a portfolio of subscribing institutions. Additional tasks involve the creation of marketing materials, making presentations at client sites and conferences, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Artifex Press software, and participation in further strategic and business development.

Responsibilities
• Develop portfolio of subscribing institutions to achieve growth and usage goals
• Act as the primary point of contact between Artifex Press and subscribing institutions; build long-lasting relationships that characterize partnership and trust
• Conduct user outreach, training, and technical support
• Work with design team to develop promotional and sales materials
• Represent and demonstrate Artifex Press at conferences and clients meetings
• Contribute to ongoing development of the Artifex Press software by gathering and documenting enhancement requests; participate in user acceptance testing of new releases
• Work with Artifex Press President on further strategic and business development

Requirements: Requirements
Required
• 2-4 years relevant experience
• Experience and familiarity with academic library resources, metadata standards, and cataloging systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven track record of successfully developing new customers and managing ongoing client relationships
• Willingness to travel to conferences and customer sites

The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable working autonomously while also being a diplomatic and eager collaborator able to interact with a range of colleagues and potential customers. A demonstrated interest in art history is a plus.
