Title: Senior Editor
Description: Guideposts, a publisher of inspirational and spiritual fiction and non-fiction books is seeking a Senior Editor to be responsible for ideation and development of original content as well as to seek out licensing opportunities that will resonate with our audience. Key responsibilities include:

•Partner with the Marketing team to understand customer demographics and create concepts for test that appeal to our audience
•Determine the viability of original content
•Edit and copy-edit assigned projects
•Seek out opportunities to license appropriate content for marketing to our audience
•Write marketing and promotion copy of concept ideas for testing
•Provide leadership to team
•Work with authors to assure timely delivery of manuscripts
•Maintain and develop a network of authors
•Review and discuss new projects and plan with editorial and marketing colleagues
Requirements: •Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 5 years proven editorial experience in book publishing
•Experience in development of original concepts for target marketing
•Creative thinker
•Ability to understand and use market research in creation of products that appeal to our audience
•Knowledge of the Christian Publishing market is a strong plus
•Strong project management and leadership skills
•Must be flexible and results-oriented
•Able to work independently and as part of a team
