Title: Associate Marketing Manager
Description: The successful candidate will join the Books Marketing Team and assume global responsibility for marketing in the areas of Politics, Criminology, Military & Security Studies and Sociology in order to maximize revenue and customer retention. They will be required to plan, execute and report on marketing activities such as email, content and social media marketing, as well attend conferences to deepen customer insights. They will work closely with internal stakeholders in sales and editorial.

The role is additionally responsible for providing support to the wider team, channel and department by working across a range of marketing projects.

Key Accountabilities

Plan, implement and report on marketing campaigns
Manage a marketing budget effectively ensuring return on investment and effort
Present information in meetings, with a thorough understanding of the key books publishing, target markets, and sales expectations
Maintain monthly reports, budgets, trackers as required
Monitor and analyse financial performance of designated portfolio and lists
Investigate and build commercial partnerships
Gather customer insights and use them to inform marketing planning and execution
Generate market understanding customer, competitor and market developments
Periodic travel to conferences and exhibitions
Support the SMM in planning and implementing subject or team level projects/campaigns
Accountable for managing own learning, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps.
Knowledge and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
Experience in a marketing environment, understanding of the role of marketing and the implementation of marketing campaigns
Knowledge and ability with IT systems including core MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Power Point), web/cloud based databases, CMS, email creation platforms and/or other bespoke IT systems.
Able to demonstrate customer and commercial awareness – including the competitive environment, potential partner organisations and market trends.
Skills and Behaviours Required

BA or equivalent
Excellent grammar and spelling
Critical and analytical ability
Understanding of statistical and financial information and high level of numeracy
