Title: | Publisher Support Assistant, JSTOR |
Description: | We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our publisher relations team that supports a large, high-profile, and international base of more than 1,200 academic publishers. This team is responsible for implementing programs and services that enhance our value to publishers and for maintaining JSTOR’s relationships with our content providers.
The successful candidate must be willing to adapt to a changing environment and be able to multi-task. We seek a self-starter who can work independently and identify ways to improve efficiency and achieve results. This is an opportunity for someone interested in making a difference to our growing network of publishers and contributing to our overall publisher relations strategy. Main responsibilities include: Support the Publisher Support team with the implementation of all programs, services, and account management. Process components of publisher agreements and draft amendments and riders when necessary. Assist in the execution of the publisher communications strategy, maintain publisher records in the CRM system, and manage general inbox for publisher requests. Generate standard reports for publishers about their participation in JSTOR and for internal analysis. Facilitate access to content and usage statistics for publishers and create custom reports on request. Liaise with Finance on all aspects related to publisher payments and invoices. Coordinate with Marketing to ensure all publisher-related marketing materials and website information pages are up-to-date. Manage advertising module on behalf of publishers. Liaise with Content Management to ensure timely and accurate ingest of content and regarding the release of new content, and coordinate publisher communications with account managers. Embark on research projects, involving academic content, publishers, institutions, and scholarly initiatives, as needed. Provided general administrative responsibilities for the team, including filing, mailing, coordinating information packets, preparation for meetings and workshops, travel arrangements, creating meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes. Work on special projects as needed. |
Requirements: | College degree required.
1-2 years’ experience working in a fast-paced office environment. Demonstrated interest in academic publishing, scholarly communications, or higher education. Familiarity with online resources for academic research and strong research skills a plus. Strong customer service mindset and able to prioritize customer’s needs. Strong proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel a requirement (e.g., pivot tables and V-lookups). Experience with SQL and a CRM system preferred. Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle and prioritize tasks with limited supervision, and work well under deadlines. Ability to work well as a team member; a willingness to actively participate in team projects and share ideas. Strong verbal and written communication skills. |
