Wunderkind PR, Inc. is seeking a Publicity Assistant to support the publicity functions of Wunderkind PR authors. In this role, the Assistant will provide general administrative support and assist with the creation of publicity campaigns for hardcover and trade paperbacks titles. This is a great opportunity to learn about book publicity at a well-respected book publicity firm that has already been in business for ten years.
 
Salary based on experience level, furnished upon request.
 
 Publicity Assistant specific responsibilities include:
• Working directly with the Founding Partner on a daily basis on major national media campaigns.
• Writing press releases, pitching via phone, email and through social media, performing research online, maintaining media grids and mailing list, and conducting media outreach.
• Communicating with authors, agents, media contacts, and within the department.
• Handling general requests from the media.
• Inputting all confirmed events and author appearances, reviews, interviews, and other press coverage into internal google docs and preparing client reports.
• Maintaining department budget including assisting with processing invoices, scanning receipts, tracking credit card expenditures, and creating author expense reports
• Performing general administrative support, including daily meetings with Partner, keeping track of authors’ schedules, ordering office supplies, etc.

• Excellent writing, verbal, and communication skills are a MUST
• Prior office experience a plus
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
• Excellent follow up skills
• Understanding of social media as a marketing tool
• A great eye for creating bookstagram posts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
