Title: Digital Language Editor and Tester (Full-Time)
Description: Leading publisher of educational materials in the areas of Asian languages and cultural studies for the K-12 and higher education markets seeks a Digital Language Editor and Tester to join its growing team. This can be an entry-level position for the right candidate, but experienced individuals are also encouraged to apply.
As a member of the digital team, the Digital Language Editor and Tester will work closely with the digital, editorial, sales, and marketing teams to contribute to the growth of the ChengTsui Web App, our digital language-learning tool and platform.
Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the digital and editorial teams, build out the digital learning components of new titles, such as creating the digital equivalent of print workbook exercises and other interactive content for the ChengTsui Web App
• Contribute to the design and transfer of digital content of titles moving from older web-based formats to the ChengTsui Web App
• Test and verify all language-specific content of both current and new offerings on the Web App
• Contribute to on-going application testing; report bugs and track fixes through the product development life cycle from initial testing of new features, to smoke testing, to final user acceptance testing and verification on the production site
• Monitor and troubleshoot customer-reported issues, engaging directly with customers on first-line customer support of the Web App; forward customer-reported issues to development team as needed
• Collect customer feedback for improvements
• Collaborate with digital and other teams on feature and functionality updates
• Participate in regular team meetings and communication channels on project status
• Perform other duties as needed and requested

Requirements: Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Excellent skills in English
• Strong reading proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese. Bi-lingual English-Chinese a plus.
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, highly organized
• Demonstrated interest in testing and troubleshooting issues in software applications
• Skills in editorial and proofreading work
• Collaborative with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Experience using software and communication tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, Skype
• Experience using Jira or other sprint planning and bug tracking tools, and knowledge of agile and software development cycles, as well as familiarity with XML, HTML, CSS, ePub, H5P, and emerging digital learning technologies highly desirable
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a professional setting, such as publishing, education, customer service, IT
• Love for Asian languages and cultures, and an interest in instructional technology
