Title: Administrative and Editorial Assistant
Description: Diversion Publishing Corp is seeking an administrative and editorial assistant to work across the various divisions of the company. The candidate will report directly to the CEO and also support the Editor in Chief of the company. The Assistant will provide administrative and editorial support to the CEO and work on an impressive list of narrative nonfiction, pop culture, history, science, business, and true crime. The Assistant will also be involved with Diversion Podcasts, the company’s fast-growing audio division.

* Providing administrative support to the CEO
* Coordinate meetings and communication across the various divisions of the company
* Coordinate with accounting department and vendors on payments, including royalty advances, freelancer invoices, and more.
* Maintain book-proposal submissions log,
Input and maintain data entry and upkeep, and coordinate metadata feed out to all distributors
* Collaborate in preparing editorial and marketing materials including manuscript transmittal memos, cover design memos, flap copy, and sales tipsheets
* Monitor deadlines, book and audio production schedules, agendas, and key dates for each publishing season
* Record minutes at meetings, and attend marketing and sales meetings as required
* Handle various other administrative tasks and learn all areas of the company in order to troubleshoot issues as they arise

Requirements: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills
* Ability to multitask and to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment
* Ability to work independently as well as within a team
* Ability to take initiative and problem solve creatively
* Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects simultaneously
* Familiarity with social media
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Prior office experience within book publishing a plus
