Title: Digital Marketing and Advertising Assistant
Description: Workman Publishing Co., Inc.’s Workman imprint, an innovative independent publisher of nonfiction books and calendars, seeks a Digital Marketing and Advertising Assistant to play an integral role in digital marketing initiatives for its diverse list of titles and national brands. If you are a tech-savvy, fast learner, a strong communicator, and an excellent writer who is detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and able to think both creatively and analytically, we would like to meet you. 

Reports to the Associate Director of Digital Marketing and the Digital Marketing and Advertising Coordinator for the Workman imprint. 

The Day-to-Day: Working closely with the Associate Director of Digital Marketing and the Digital Marketing and Advertising Coordinator, the Digital Marketing and Advertising Assistant is primarily charged with executing and reporting on digital content for Workman advertising and social media channels.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Advertising and Reporting
• Assist with copywriting for Workman’s digital advertising platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, and Google.
• Maintaining weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual reports on conversions/sales, social media, and advertising insights.

Newsletters and Social Media
• Scheduling social media posts.
• Maintaining and keeping content calendars up to date.
• Actively contribute to content ideas and strategy at weekly newsletter and social media meetings.
• Assist with building newsletters and blog posts in Mailchimp and WordPress.

Administrative
• Communicate advertising opportunities to the Associate Director.
• Maintain the digital advertising budget. 
• Create expense reports.
• Keep meeting notes.
 
Please apply if you meet the following qualifications: 

• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills 
• A natural knack for all things digital
• A critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
• Email marketing experience, preferably with Mailchimp, not necessary, but a plus
• Willingness to learn a brand voice for Workman’s audience
• Strong interest in reporting, analytics, and SEO
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
• The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy 
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
• A good sense of humor and an excitement for participating in and contributing to a fun, vibrant work environment with great company culture 
• College degree or equivalent work experience

Requirements:
Company: WORKMAN PUBLISHING
Location: New York, New York. Please note that, due to COVID-19, this position will be working from home for the foreseeable future, although interested candidates must reside in either NY, NJ, or CT and be able to commute to Workman’s NYC office (located in the West Village of Manhattan) when it’s once again safe to work in an office environment.
