Title: Marketing Manager/Assistant Manager, AYR
Description: Algonquin Young Readers, an imprint of Algonquin Books, seeks a Marketing Manager or Assistant Manager (title commensurate with experience) to work directly with the Director of Marketing to create overall strategy for both titles and the AYR brand including consulting on proposed ad plans, messaging, and more.

The ideal candidate has at least 4-5 years of book publishing experience, with a strong knowledge of children’s book publishing and the marketplace. Must be goal-oriented and highly self-motivated, with excellent organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain and monitor all social media platforms for AYR including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Youtube with a focus on engaging readers and growing our platforms.
• Develop and oversee title marketing campaigns for 10-12 front list titles a year.
o Brainstorm, draft, and execute marketing plans for assigned titles.
o Manage creation of ads and sales materials.
o Create and maintain Amazon paid keyword campaigns.
o Coordinate with the sales department on mailings, outreach to accounts, promotional pieces, and more.
o Maintain title metadata, including up-to-date information and graphic assets.
• Create and maintain a regular schedule of newsletters including:
o Algonquin Annotation bookseller newsletters
o Single title dedicated consumer newsletters
o Cross-title general consumer newsletters
• Develop and execute seasonal and group campaigns to bolster backlist sales.
• Maintain and update Algonquin Young Readers website.
• Assist in the development of PowerPoint presentations for sales conference.

QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 4-5 years publishing experience, preferably in marketing (or comparable).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, and strong organization.
• Willingness to experiment and think outside-the-box about marketing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, and Wordpress. Experience with Edelweiss, Hootsuite, Canva, and Hootsuite a plus.
• An interest in analytical skillsets to optimize campaigns for ROI and develop audience insights and targeting strategies that reach existing fans while also looking to expand the audience.
