Title: | Reprints Production Coordinator |
Description: | Candlewick Press, a leading publisher of books for children located in Somerville MA, seeks a Reprints Production Coordinator to join our talented team. The Reprints Production Coordinator will handle the production for reprints of Candlewick-originated backlist picture book titles and Candlewick versions of Walker-originated picture book titles.
Responsibilities include: • Working closely with the Senior Production Manager, Reprints, the Finance department and the Inventory management team, the Reprints Production Coordinator will attend weekly reprint meetings, maintain reprint schedule report, and keep accurate records of books ordered and received. • Liaise with London office to traffic and oversee reprint production of Candlewick backlist titles as applicable. • Liaise with foreign publishers to transmit Candlewick reprint changes and track schedules for backlist buy-in titles, as assigned. • Work with overseas and domestic vendors to negotiate costs to achieve the most competitive pricing, select materials, and order printing as applicable. • Work closely with finance, designers, editors and sales in planning and project management. • Circulate and track reprint proofs for corrections/approval. • Work diligently to achieve expectations regarding margin performance, to improve efficiencies, and identify areas of cost savings. • Prepare estimates, print instructions or purchase orders, and shipping information through the company database. • Liaise with Walker UK and Australia offices to ensure delivery of books for their co-editions of Candlewick Press reprint titles. • Receive and approve advances for assigned reprints titles. • Attend weekly reprint decide meetings to provide and discuss information as needed. • Review invoices, resolve any discrepancies, and approve for payment. |
Requirements: | • A minimum of 2 years book production and print buying experience in a juvenile publishing environment with both 1-color and 4-color experience preferred.
• Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills • Able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and efficiently as well as deal with issues diplomatically. |
