Title: | Digital Content Coordinator |
Description: | Kensington is seeking a Digital Content Coordinator who is detail oriented and excited about books and how data can put them in readers' hands to support the growing Digital Sales & Marketing department. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills who is interested in book publishing, digital media, metadata and its impact on sales, and being part of a dedicated team that is always looking for the best ways to help our authors find an audience.
Our Coordinator will be involved in: • Building metadata for new, upcoming, and backlist titles including liaising with departments internally to obtain necessary information and materials for both eBooks and key pieces on print books. • Assuring timely and accurate eBook production. • Following up and resolving day-to-day issues effecting timely completion of digitization, delivery, and various file and metadata issues with both internal and external colleagues. • Maintaining retailer promotional calendar, building out title nomination sheets for promotions, and ensuring appropriate pricing is in place. • Working with our outside contractors and freelancers to update content for reissued titles and ensure metadata and pricing updates are correct. • Monitor open issues with metadata or production and resolve or escalate. • Supply metadata and files requested by retailers or colleagues. • Tracking eBook files that require rework due to internal errors, making corrections, and redelivering files. • Making metadata corrections when necessary—such as when books are mis-categorized due to various issues. • Ensuring that all titles are active at major retailers and communicating with necessary contacts when eBooks are missing from their inventory and assisting in the problem resolution. • Communicating with authors and agents when metadata and file updates are required, and informing them when updates are complete. • Watching for trends and suggesting metadata updates (i.e. BISAC and keywords) when necessary, as well as executing approved changes. • Working with our distribution clients to ensure their titles and metadata are converted and delivered to market in the required timeframe. • Reviewing production invoices to ensure accuracy. • Additional projects as new opportunities in the digital publishing arena arise. |
Requirements: | • 1+ years experience in book publishing and/or data management
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with high-level business partners • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office/Excel • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision • Passion for commercial publishing and knowledge of what is currently trending in the marketplace • BA or equivalent work experience • Must be a team-player who can work well with others • A love of books—particularly commercial fiction—mysteries, historical, and women’s fiction is essential |
