Title: | Editorial Assistant, Custom Publications |
Description: | W. W. Norton & Company is seeking an Editorial Assistant to work in the Custom Publications division. This dynamic position will involve marketing and producing customized college textbooks from all academic disciplines.
Essential Job Responsibilities: • Supporting custom sales efforts by maintaining detailed and accurate records, communicating with sales staff, managers, and customers. • Creating customized sales handouts, drafting sales proposals, and assisting in creation of advertising. • Managing inventory, reprints, and ISBNs. • Proofreading project materials. • Creating sales reports (proficiency in advanced Excel, Smartsheet, or Salesforce functionality a plus) • Requesting checks, proofing, routing, and tracking contracts. • Creating and maintaining up-to-date spreadsheets and databases to support projects. • Collaborating with the editorial, production, and permissions teams to meet deadlines. • Hiring and managing seasonal interns. Requirements: | Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree. • Employment eligibility to work with W. W. Norton & Company in the US is required. • Must be able to work full business hours, primarily in an Eastern time zone. • W.W. Technical Skills: • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Google Docs. Smartsheet and Salesforce experience a plus. • Copyediting and proofreading test will be given. |
