Hachette Book Group is seeking a Retail Strategy Manager, Author Brands to expertly lead our sales strategy for Hachette’s bestselling author brands: the world’s bestselling author James Patterson, publishing phenomenon Colleen Hoover, and other established bestselling authors including David Baldacci, Elin Hilderbrand, Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben, and more. Our ideal candidate has robust knowledge the retail marketplace, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to multi-task and think analytically. The Retail Strategy Manager, Author Brands will report to the Executive Sales Director, Retail Strategy & Author Brands. Key responsibilities include: Serve as primary sales liaison for the James Patterson publishing program: Set goals and budgets across the Patterson frontlist catalog Advise on first print and reprint decisions Report daily/weekly sales performance to key stakeholders Act as primary Sales point-person for the Patterson publishing teams Analyze sales trends across author brands at and beyond Hachette Manage sales reporting for author brand business reviews; provide analysis around brand author sales and key industry trends for account and author business reviews Provide sales expertise for complex publishing decisions across all brand author catalogs Strategically improve and create new retail programs for Hachette brand authors, in collaboration with sales and publishing; help strategize timing, promotions, and account-specific marketing to optimize success for each title Salary: $75,000-$80,000, bonus eligible Location: New York, NY |
| Requirements: | Qualifications:
At least 4 years’ experience in book publishing or other relevant consumer goods sales environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Bachelor’s degree preferred As a leading book publisher, we believe that including and representing diverse voices in all aspects of our business is fundamental to what we do.
