| Title: | Senior Sales Account Manager - Guilford Press |
| Description: | Guilford Press, an independent academic/scholarly publisher of high-quality works in Psychology, Education, and Research Methods for professionals and the general reader, seeks an experienced sales and data analytics professional to manage Amazon, Kindle, Ingram, and other key accounts, as well as lead the department’s data analytics. As a sales team senior account manager, as well as its lead in analytics, you will directly contribute to maintaining and expanding the reach of our outstanding titles.
Responsibilities Sales • Adeptly manage all aspects of Amazon, Kindle, Ingram and other key accounts. • As a Key Account lead, you will assess new sales models; track sales, inventory, and returns; and contribute to making informed decisions on pricing and terms. • Put your Amazon expertise to use with metadata and merchandising best practices while suggesting enhancements. • Open new accounts and explore underserved markets. • Create and deliver clear and effective sales presentations. Data Analytics • Lead department analytics initiatives by developing strong, clear reporting and analytic tools both to track department goals and inform future directions based on new priorities. • Conduct in-depth Sales and Inventory analysis, propose and test new analytical approaches, edit existing reports, write queries, help maintain data integrity, and analyze reports either individually or with the collaboration of other teams, such as IT/Data Management. • Train Sales and other team members on using sales data, analysis, and reporting for their work. Work Arrangements We prefer this position to be based out of our New York City office (near Penn Station in midtown Manhattan), with a hybrid schedule of on-site office and remote work. It may also be worked fully from the Guilford offices if preferred. For the right candidate, full-time remote would also be considered. Compensation The pay range for this position is $70,000 to $78,000 annually. | Requirements: | • Appropriately assertive sales instincts and skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills. • Strong negotiation skills. • The ability to analyze sales and cost data to make informed decisions and recommendations is crucial, as is the ability to communicate effectively with other departments, authors, and vendors. • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. • Superior computing skills--including MS Office suite’s Excel, Word, and PowerPoint--are a must. • Knowledge of Access, Acumen, and Edelweiss are a plus. • A college degree is preferred. • 5-10 years of experience in scholarly publishing, or other directly relevant experience, is preferred. • Travel to professional conferences is required. |
