Title: Royalties Administrative Assistant
Description: Do you like working with numbers and tracking data but want to learn more about the book publishing industry? Are you a motivated self-starter who thinks no job is too small? Well, keep reading because Diversion Publishing is seeking a Royalties/Bookkeeping Assistant to join our growing book publishing team. This unique role combines the responsibilities of a Royalties Assistant along with basic bookkeeping responsibilities. Our ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator who is extremely organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This role will support the day-to-day business operations, as well as offer a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the publishing industry. Previous experience working as an assistant at a Publishing or Literary Agency is required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Attend meetings, maintain agendas, and take meeting notes
• Track and record author/vendor invoicing and payments
• Record detailed royalty revenue reports in QuickBooks with accuracy.
• Assist in the semi annual royalty preparation process and formatting revenue reports in excel.
• Support other departments including production & editorial

Requirements: Qualifications (Required)
• QuickBooks Online 2 years
• General knowledge of royalties
• Willingness to learn RIGHTS 20|20 program.
• Experience with Google Suite, Dropbox, and Microsoft Excel
• Must have extensive knowledge and experience using Excel and pivot tables. This is a critical skill that is required and will be used daily
• Strong administrative skills with a “no job too small” work ethic
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
• A passion for books and a genuine interest in the publishing industry

Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Hours: 20 hours a week (to start)
Location: This is an on-site position at our Manhattan (midtown) office.
