Title: Senior Editor/Executive Editor, LB, Voracious
Description: Voracious, an imprint of Little, Brown, is a premiere destination for authors with visually rich, high-quality books. We aim to connect readers with what they love most, and publish a range of nonfiction with an emphasis on food and drink, art, design, and pop culture.

We seek an entrepreneurial, creative Senior or Executive Editor with a proven record of success to expand our program of visual books and help shape the evolution of our imprint. This editor will acquire 10 to 12 titles with strong promotional and sales potential each year, building a smart, commercial list that reflects the diversity of our potential audiences and the world we live in. The ideal candidate will have experience publishing successful cookbooks.

Voracious’s bestselling and award-winning list includes authors Pete Souza, Christopher Kimball, Sarah Knight, Pamela Anderson, Ayesha Curry, Daniel Humm, Marcus Samuelsson, Sam Heughan, and the estate of Johnny Cash, and titles such as Accidentally Wes Anderson and Cabin Porn.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acquire 10 to 12 nonfiction titles each year with potential for critical and commercial success, attracting quality submissions and prospecting for new authors
Collaborate with publishing team to identify and develop areas for growth
Expertly edit manuscripts and advocate for authors throughout their books’ lifecycles
Efficiently partner with authors, agents, and internal teams (art, design, production, sales, publicity, marketing) to position and publish books with creativity and force
Manage title P&Ls and track progress toward sales and profit goals
Take on departmental projects as assigned
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:
6-10 years of editorial experience in book publishing, journalism, or relevant media
Track record of acquiring, developing, and publishing profitable, high-quality titles
Deep network of agent, author, photography, illustration, and design relationships
Strong knowledge of the illustrated nonfiction market, production lifecycle, and sales and marketing strategies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and polished presentation style
Proven ability to manage multiple high-profile and complex projects simultaneously
Firm understanding of the business of trade book publishing, including negotiation and financial aspects—especially the illustrated book P&L

The compensation range for this position is $75,000 - $135,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
