Title: Editorial Assistant, Forever Imprint
Description: SUMMARY:
We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the romance category to join our dynamic team at Forever, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing. The Editorial Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Publisher and a Senior Editor within the Forever team.
This position will be based in our New York office on a two-day-a-week hybrid schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform administrative duties, including meeting scheduling, mailings, expense reports, etc.
Enter title data into proprietary database system and update throughout the publishing process
Prepare title fact sheets with key selling points and comparative titles
Run weekly sales reports
Traffic editorial projects through Production, Copyediting, and Marketing, and secure appropriate approvals.
Prepare pre-acquisition materials, including profit-and-loss statements
Read and report on manuscripts and proposals submitted for publication
Report on emerging trends
Communicate with authors and agents about general questions and updates
Requirements: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

Passion/interest in the romance category and a keen eye for trends in the genre
Strong organization/administrative ability and meticulous attention to detail.
An ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent writing skills, and the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings regardless of audience.
Ability to anticipate tasks and take initiative to solve problems while taking ownership of situations as needed.
Knowledge of MS Office programs
Knowledge of social media

The compensation for this position is $47,500. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
