Title: College Business Assistant
Description: The College Department at W.W. Norton seeks a proactive, detail-oriented Business Assistant to join the Team. This position collaborates closely with the College Business Analyst and Director of Financial Analysis and will work on a wide range of business operations, data analysis, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is organized and analytical, has strong communication skills, is comfortable with information systems, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment working with a wide range of people.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

Download data from internal sales system to help create and maintain P&Ls for hundreds of college department titles. Analyze actual expenses against budgeted estimated costs.
Help manage departmental finances: process departmental invoices on a weekly basis, making sure they were approved and/or within a budget, and properly coded. Track departmental AMEX charges.
Assist business teams with calculation of bonus payouts for both higher ed and high school sales reps.
Assist the Director of Financial Analysis and College Business Analyst on analysis and management for sales and marketing projects.
Assist Editorial Director on administrative tasks related to biweekly college editorial meeting.
Assist other college department teams on special projects and support related to sales data and analysis as needed.
Requirements: Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree
Employment eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US is required.
Must be able to work from Norton’s New York City headquarters
Excellent organizational, verbal, analytical and written communications skills
Good attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Compensation and Benefits*

Currently available benefits include:

Annual compensation for this position is $48,000. All salaries and salary ranges posted by Norton may vary depending on experience, skills, location, and like considerations.
