Title: Publicist/Senior Publicist - Seven Stories Press
Description: $55-65K/year, full time + benefits (Health/Vision/Dental/401k)

Independent literary and political publisher Seven Stories Press seeks a publicist or senior publicist to join our team. This is a mid-level position with growth potential.

The Publicist/Senior Publicist will work with the Publicity Director and Publicity Assistant to help promote select Seven Stories Press books (including titles from imprints Two Dollar Radio, Triangle Square Books for Young Readers, and Siete Cuentos) to media, event venues, booksellers, and the reading public with the result of increasing book sales.

The Publicist/Sr Publicist reports to the Publicity Director and will also liaise with other departments. The primary focus of this position is to create media and event opportunities, secure reviews and feature stories, and otherwise promote new literary and political titles for children and adults. The Publicist would be responsible for roughly 3-4 books per month on average.

Responsibilities include:
- Publicizing specific titles: create press materials and mailing lists; do media follow-up and arrange interviews; book author tour events and media; establish and maintain relevant relationships in the media to encourage coverage of books from SSP and its imprints
- Outreach to event venues, bookstores, public book festivals and trade shows re: author events and appearances
- Provide relevant materials for Distributor sales team as needed, in consultation with the marketing team
- Attend conferences, author events, and trade shows as necessary
- Submit monthly Kindle Deals
- Maintain and update databases
- Attend weekly publicity/marketing meeting
- Oversee Wikipedia updates
- Meet new challenges as they arise
Requirements: - Minimum 2-3 years’ experience doing publicity in the book trade
- Excellent writing, organizational and communication skills are a must
- Ability to work collaboratively and graciously with our authors and partners
- Knowledge of AirTable, MailChimp and InDesign a plus
- Knowledge of Spanish language a plus
- Multitasking skills are essential
