LOVE SPELLS
Description: Dorchester Publishing is an independent publisher of trade paperbacks and e-books specializing in romance, horror, Westerns and thrillers.

Founded in 1971, Dorchester became the oldest independent mass-market publisher in the U.S., and the only mass-market house with dedicated lines for Westerns and horror. For forty years our dedicated staff has worked tirelessly to discover and promote new talent. The romance line has built such stars as Christine Feehan, Katie MacAlister, Connie Mason, Lynsay Sands, and numerous others. Dorchester books have won awards for every category in which they’re eligible and have been featured in The New York Times, Newsweek, USA Today, Redbook, Time, CNN, The Los Angeles Times and many more.

Dorchester has always been a company that’s willing to take risks. Recently we’ve made the exciting transition from mass-market to trade paperback and e-book formats. With the diminishing demand for mass-market titles and growing demand for e-books, many have said that the industry must change to survive, and Dorchester is proud to be at the forefront of this change while we continue to publish our signature genre fiction. Renowned for more than four decades for our prescient editorial and promotional insights, we are proactively responding to the needs of an evolving market and firmly believe that our new model—with its emphasis on trade paperbacks and e-publishing—will emerge as the prevailing standard that many publishers will adopt in the coming years.

Our titles are available wherever books are sold: chains such as Barnes & Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, and Books-A-Million; independents such as Powell’s; retailers such Wal-Mart, Target, and Kmart; online e-book vendors such as Amazon, B&N.com, Borders, Sony, and Overdrive and its affiliates; as well as drug stores, grocery stores, airports, and libraries.
