Company Name: LIZA DAWSON ASSOCIATES
Description: Liza Dawson Associates is a full-service literary agency based in New York City that represents a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. Literary agent interns will assist in reading queries, requesting partials, reading partials, preparing reader reports and other projects as requested. Compensation will be provided and we are happy to approve academic credit. The Winter 2023 internship will be conducted remotely.
Length of Internship: 6 months
Requirements: Rising sophomore, juniors, seniors, and beyond of any major are encouraged to apply! Candidates should have a high level of interest in the publishing field and a love of books. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Candidates must be able to commit 10-15 hours a week. BIPOC applicants encouraged to apply.
Location: Remote

Payment: $1,500 Honorarium at end of internship

- Who are a few of your favorite all-time authors and why?
- What’s the best thing you’ve read in the past year and why?
- What’s a recent bestselling book that you didn’t like and why? Why do you think it got so much hype and attention? What would you have changed about it if you were the agent or editor?
- Who would be your dream author to represent as an agent and why? - What do you love about their writing?
- Which genres do you feel most comfortable reading in and picking apart the work? Which ones do you feel least comfortable with?
