Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W. W. Norton, the largest and oldest publishing house owned wholly by its employees, is seeking an intern to assist the chemistry team from September to December 2017. This internship will offer the opportunity to work on college chemistry textbooks and the digital and ancillary resources that complement those textbooks. You will have a chance to explore various stages of the publishing process and gain experience in a number of editorial projects including, but not limited to, managing and editing the chemistry blog, preparing manuscript for copyediting and production, cataloging and organizing digital assets, testing digital content and functionality, and assisting with reviews of content. Please note: NO specific knowledge of chemistry is required!
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Ideal candidates will have an interest in learning more about college textbook and digital media publishing. Applicants should possess strong communication skills and be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in an office environment. Knowledge of Mac OS, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office is required. Specific hours are flexible, but interns must be available to work 3-4 days for a total of 20 hours per week over a three-month period.

Payment: $11/hour
